Hank Frundt on ASEC Final Report
(Requested posting; not part of Poll results)

Dear Colleagues:

ASEC recommends elimination of the school structure at Ramapo,

to be replaced by vaguely defined divisions headed by appointed deans.

Despite the ASEC committee’s dedicated work, we must vote AGAINST

a "blank check" for structural change that potentially reduces

faculty control. [Hopefully we have learned from mistaken blank check

votes at the national level]. Let us then take the opportunity to turn

the ballot into a genuine survey of what we DO want to change, as

ASEC itself urged us to do at the last faculty assembly. Let’s return a

negative mail ballot, but further specify the ASEC recommendations we

think are truly beneficial.   Thanks, Hank Frundt
