Recommendation One: That
the college establish a daytime shuttle service to transport faculty, staff and
students to and from the farthest parking lots.
Recommendation Two: That
the parking committee membership include administrators who have a direct
influence on campus parking, such as the Director of Facilities or Vice
President for Student Affairs.
Recommendation Three: That a
study be conducted of the reserved parking on campus as there was much concern expressed
by the Parking Committee about the number of reserved spaces in light of the
current parking crunch.
Recommendation Four: That
the college look into the construction of a one level parking deck to be
erected over the existing faculty/staff lots similar to the deck at Bergen
Community College. This will also
allow for better event parking for both the Berrie Center and the Bradley
Sports Arena, and eliminate the need to create more lots.
Recommendation Five: That
plowing for snow removal be done in a manner so that parking spaces will not be
lost to snow piles.
Recommendation Six: That a
complete survey be made of all parking signage and striping to determine if it
is compliant with DOT standards.
All of the signage should be described in detail as to type, location,
and then submitted to the Administrative Council for formal approval. It should be filed at Security,
Facilities and Environmental Health.
Recommendation Seven: That
there be changes in the Oak and Maple lots by having them numbered, as well as
having overflow parking in the North Field for Oak and Maple residents.
