Educational background: Earned a Ph.D degree in 1991 from the City University of New York.

She has also published several articles on Peninsular Medieval, Golden Age literature, and Spanish America from the colony to the contemporary.

She has presented papers conferences in the United States, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil and Spain.

Classes Regularly Taught: Survey of Latin American Literature (ALIT 268), Spanish Renaissance (ALIT 328), Latino Literature USA (ALIT 341), The African Presence in Contemporary Latin American, Old African Religions in the New World.

Africana Studies and Spanish language and literature in translation in the School of Social Sciences and Human Services and in American and International Studies.
