GEOL
327 Geology of New Jersey
Description
This field
course will explore New Jersey's 1.5 billion year
geologic history through analysis and interpretation of clues left in
the
rocks. We will examine each of the four provinces of the state, from
the
bedrock to the surface, focusing on the geologic history of the state
and it's
geologic resources; we will also look at environmental geology issues
such as
water resources, land use, and waste management.
This course will include four full-day field
trips and
seminars before each trip (and a wrap-up session at the end). All trips
are
mandatory.
