Gadareth Higgs

Background Information

    On September 5th 1985, Gadareth Higgs was born in the city of Nassau, on the Bahamian island of New Providence.  He grew up in Freeport, Grand Bahama Bahamas and attended Mary, Star of the Sea Primary School.  Here, he won the National Catholic Diocesan Spelling Bee Competition and the Regional Finger-Spelling Bee Competition in 1996.  After graduating as Valedictorian from primary school, he entered grade 8 at Grand Bahama Catholic High School.  While in high school, he maintained pricipal's list status while participating in extracurricular organizations such as the Interact Club, the Hawks' Athletic Team, and the Student Council, where he served as Treasurer.  He was also an assistant teacher at C.C.D. (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) classes, an organist, and a reader for Mass at Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church.  Currently, he is majoring in Biochemistry and Bioinformatics, on a presidential scholarship, at Ramapo College of New Jersey.

 

Travel Experience

    Among other cities, Gadareth has visited London, Paris, Rome, Miami, Tucson, Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York and, of course, New Jersey.  Additionally, he has been to Jamaica, Mexico and the Cayman Islands.

 

Future Plans

    After college, Gadareth plans to go to Johns Hopkins/Harvard Medical School and study medical research.  Upon graduation, he plans to embark upon a career as a medical doctor and medical research scientist.
