What constitutes
reality for children is quite different than for adults. This
series explores metaphoric examples of how children survive in a world
filled with monsters and heroes. Their actions take place within
allusions to mythologies, elements of landscape, and images of
botanical/anatomical forms. For example, in Milk Boy, the child pinches his
nipples while standing on clusters of berry-like forms that are
actually mammary glands. The painted sketches come from
observations from life and function as explorations of gesture and
