I would like to get a better underatnding of social issues
in general. I had my share of hardships, but not racial
hardships.
What I'd like to get out of this class is a broader
understanding of multiculturalism, classism, racism, gender
inequalities and their effects on victims of + society as a whole.
While I thought I understood impact of multiculturalism, I find
I'm getting confused with subgroups
I hope to enjoy myself as well as ascertain a better sense
of cross culture. I also hope to gain a clear understanding of all
the readings
Change my views toward people + concepts that have to deal
w/Race, Class, or Gender.
Gain a better understanding of what social issues are +
what I can do to help.
I hope to learn more about different cultures and people
with unique lifestyles.
I want to get an A out of this class.
While I think that I am an open person when it comes to
people unlike myself, I believe there is more I could learn to
beter underatnd people's lives. Some world issues are blurry, so I
would like to underatnd those better too.
Out of this class I would like to learn more about why some
poeple stereotype people in certain ways before they really get to
know them.
Learn about the differences between race, class, and
gender. Why some people are treated the way they are.
I am intersted in learning about other peoples lives,
culture, beliefs, and why they believe it. I want to expand my
knowledge with an open mind.
I want to learn more about the way people like me, think
and act in the world.
An A.
I hope that I can learn how to look at things open
mindedly. I was raised in a very opinionated family _ am trying to
break free from that.
I want a better understanding of "how the world turns." In
my Student Literacy Corps class I had an eye-opening experience
tutoring kids at Eastside High, in Paterson NJ. I think this class
will further my knowledge.
I hope NOT to have a breakdown by trying to deal
w/this class & 2 jobs!
I want to get my 4 credits and get out of this course
alive. I'm unsure if I'm going to be able to complete the work for
this course while working 40 hours a week.
Understanding of social differences.
A highly developed time management schedule in order to
juggle life and all coursework successfully.
I am very interested in these types of issues but I'm
worried with all the works and readings assigned, that I will be
doing things just to get things done and move to the next, that I
won't get a deep understanding.
A better understanding on why some people think + act the
way they do about certain topics.
I want to gain a better understanding of different
race/classes/ sexes. I also want to get 4 credits.
A passing grade.
I have family members who are ignorant when it comes to
other races. They do a lot of stereotyping. Is it too late to
change the way they feel + how do you go about getting them to
change their views.
I would hope to get a well balanced perspective of the
world. This means the issues presented as they are without the
clear liberal bias in which many Ramapo professors show while they
teach
better underatnding of "issues" in society
feelings of others (being in one's world)
changed attitude
a well deserved "A/B"!
I want to understand the importance of multiculturalism and
its impact on education in public schools.
So far I enjoy it
I want a better awareness + ability to listen to different
people's perspectives in their lives which I will eventually
address with them in a clinical social work role dealing with the
individual pain + problems of their perspectives.
