Rank today's presentation from 1 to 4 (1=totally useless and
4=Very useful)
1. Overall evaluation of class:
3.18
2. What was the most useful or meaningful thing you learned or
insight you gained during the session?
- really liked "My Left Foot"
- That everyone wants the same thing
- the vogue thing and My left foot, how hard Kristy tried.
- what vogue came from
- Maybe I don't have to do a media paper.
- How the vouge(sic) related to the balls.
- To tell you the truth, nothing much.
- what vogue actually means
- Everyone pretty much wants the same things in life.
- Learned that most people want almost the same things out of
life.
- Vogue-the background and what it really means. Anyone can do
whatever they want and can get what they want if they work hard on
it.
- Gender is not definite.
- That we could get out of media paper by doing the trial
- finishing the movie "My Left Foot", I really enjoyed it. I
feel it opened my mind. The 2nd video "paris is Burning", erased
some stereotypes that I possessed about the gay community it must
be very hard
- That there is a whole other culture out there that I have yet
to learn about
- Time is precious
- viewing and forming opinions on the diabled and others. Drag
queens. learning to adjust to them.
- The meanings of vogue.
- The video Paris is burning.
- That handicapped individuals do not want to be treated
differently.
- Christy Brown is a very inspirational person.
- another culture: "Vogue"
- The Vogue and how wrong it was of Madonna to exploit the drag
movement.
- How persistent handicapped people are or how us normal people
aren't persistent at what we want.
- Voguing! I can't wait to tell all my friends. I have so much
respect for what there (sic) families have made for
themselves.
- regardless of diff. we all have a universal list of
desires.
3. What question(s) remain uppermost in your mind as we
end?
- How do you meditate
- what are you expecting in our Media Paper
- What do we have to do for the case
- How do people know that they want to change their gender?
- Can I still hand in index cards from a while ago? Can I still
make it up?
- None
- Should I act as the defendant?
- Will I be picked for the prosecution?
- The reason people get a sex change if they are gay.
- How do you explain Gayism? What is it? How does it come
about.
- what is gender?
- Why was Paris is Burning so long?
- Time limit left in class is going to be bad.
- journals
- How old is Christy Brown now? How does he feel about all?
- why Madonna did the song + video Vogue.
- There is very little usefulness from Paris is burning, people
would accept more if they knew less
- I still don't get Paris is Burning.
- Who's "dissing" who in the video...? expand.
- nothing really
- Why did most of Voguing people want money so badly. Maybe due
to the supermodel image?
- uhhh...I'm overwhelmed.
4. What was the "muddiest" point in this session? (In other
words, what was the least clear to you?)
- I can't meditate
- The vogue thing but then I understood it at the end!
- Too many movies!
- None (2)
- Nothing
- what impact will voguing have in anyone's life?
- Paris was good, but man did it drag.
- nothing really
- Break
- Vogueing
- I still don't get Paris is Burning.
- Watching "Paris is Burning" and watching people transform
themselves
- No one taled today. I got a kind of weirdness from the
"Crew."
- Paris is Burning...a lot of gender issues brought up-confusing
of goals.
5. Other comments:
- I fell asleep watching the "Drag Queen "tape
(sorry!!)
- It has been a great class so far.
- I didn't particulalry care for this class
- you + me all we want to be is lazy.
- I never realized what Vogue meant (I was in 4th grade) until
now.
- Paris is Burning set me back in opening and accepting
- "My Left Foot" is probably one of the best films of all time
-for me. Very touching + inspirational-especially since I saw it
when I was approximately 8.
- What does Paris is Burning mean? I don't get the title of the
movie how do they relate
- If you get a sex change. can you have sex?
- deciding between Media paper + pros/def trial..Really hard
decision...also i feel like I am in the middle of way too many
books for this class...Very Stressed out.
