1. Overall evaluation of class:
3.76
2. What was the most useful or meaningful thing you learned or
insight you gained during the session?
- What the people in the class thought. Everyone has very
different issues.
- various perspectives of racism.
- the meaning of Race from other people's point of view
- Diff.perspectives/opinions
- How to accept others opinions, although they may not be my
own!
- glad we had a discussion-the first few classes, there wasn't
much group discussion
- How important these issues are to generation; I don't think we
know the power we have.
- That I might not be fully ready to integrate
relationships-
- That peoples opinions very from background and life
experiences
- People opinions on the issues we discussed too many to
list.
- That I need to educate not only my daughter, but the future
kids of America to like everyone for who they are.
- I think that just trying to get a definition for race,
ethnicity as a group showed me that people think alike and that
many people have the same perspectives of others as I do.
- A lot of people feel strongly on the issues of race, class,
and gender.
- That everyone has completely different backgrounds and
views and that we need to hear everyone out + not be
close-minded.
- Everyone is pretty adamant on the topic of racism. Most people
in this class seem to be very open-minded
- Being able to voice my opinion on race, gender + class
- How everyone opened up and told their different feelings about
the world today.
- Our discussion on racism
- How everyone had their own opinions on racism.
- It's easy to express my opinions in this environment
- Discussing race, class + gender
- People use verbal safe gaurds(sic) when speaking of vital
issues.
- listening to other's radically different views
- Seeing all the diff. views during the games.
- how other's feel about discrimination and their views on
gender and race
- Everyone's view of Race.
- This class was useful in waking people up on issues of
racism.
- class discussion on racism prejudice
3. What question(s) remain uppermost in your mind as we
end?
- I don't know...everything we talked about.
- Who are we ??
- How do we really/truely(sic) discribe (sic) ourselves without
color
- How to take so many topics/standpoints/issues and combine
them.
- Was everyone sincere. I guess we will never know, but I hope
we all gained insight.
- how does the author of the book feel about being
multi-racial
- How can the society reconcile the time we are living in and
the need to have racial harmony
- Media paper /Voice journal is it just a journal or will there
be a paper for it
- Do these people really feel that way outside the class?
- What should I do about my "voice"?
- What will be my voice?
- None
- Why does the citation have to be on top of the index
card.
- What does the Media Proposal have to be on? Just a movie?
- The media paper what movie I want to do.
- are we becoming less racist?
- will racism ever stop?
- Media Proposal

voice is
- What do you expect from our Index summaries and journals.
Please be specific.
- how will this project change me
- Whether or not I can handle the work.
- note cards
- What is my view
- media reviews
4. What was the "muddiest" point in this session? (In other
words, what was the least clear to you?)
- ?
- the video of the third grade class. Ifelt it was wrong and
unjust
- Where do we go from here. Are we trying to convince others to
take our views as their own, or just learning to accept all of the
views
- Certain people's views, Abortion is a very big issue for me.
It surprises me how many women feel the government should decide
what to do on their bodies!!
- media review
- N/A
- Time!!!
- The part in which we had to divide + decide for or against
certain issues.
- The index card part.
- Nothing really. (2
- None
- Not being able to get in the circle.
- Why we couldn't get into the circle
- Media Proposal
- Why did we watch the American love story
- I was dissapointed with myself for the cards
- The media proposal/ paper
- american love story because ?(unable to read) it
- The project due Sept. 28
- The game where we wouldn't let people in the circle.
5. Other comments:
- I love the debate! Especially multi-faceted
opinions.
- Overwhelming. there just seems to be so much involved in
"social issues" and not enough time to really disect (sic) each
issue. Perhaps the class topics could be organized better EX:
strictly race one day. gender or class another.
- People have interesting views/ but I'm not sure they are aware
of how they really feel.
- I love the way you teach! Keep it up!
- I enjoyed talking out + seeing what everyone else has been
feeling.
- I really enjoyed todays class with everyone sharing what they
thought.
- Nothing
- I wear a cape.
