Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society
Delta Mu Delta is a national honor society that promotes and recognizes outstanding business student achievement. Ramapo College students are eligible for induction through its Delta Nu Chapter.
Delta Mu Delta membership is the highest national recognition a business studetn can earn, and is a distinguished honor to include on one's resume. Students who are inducted become lifetime members. At Ramapo College, induction occurs at a special ceremony dessigned to celebrate student achievement.
Every year, almost 300,000 students receive bachelor's or master's degrees in business. Only about 5,000 of these are elected to Delta Mu Delta membership. At Ramapo College, some 60 students are inducted annually.
Students who are inducted into Delta Mu Delta receive lifelong recognition for outstanding academic achievement, have ongoing access to networking with other members, and are acknowledged for federal employment as having fulfiled one of the requirements of the GS-7 level service.
Students inducted at Ramapo College are also eligible to be selected as the School of Administration and Business "Outstanding Student," and are eligible to help select the School of Administration and Business "Outstanding Teacher."
Membership as an undergraduate signifies that you are a candidate for the baccalaureate degree in business, have completed at least half the credits required for the degree, have a cumulate average grade of 3.3 or better, are in the top 20 percent of your college class, and are of good academic standing. If you transferred to Ramapo College, you will have in addition completed a minimum of 30 semester hours here.
The minimum criteria for MBA eligibility is a GPA of 3.7 and standing within the upper 20% of one’s class, having reached 24 credits for the degree. Graduate students who meet these criteria are notified of eligibility regardless of whether they were inducted as undergraduates.
Undergraduates are typically notified of eligibility for induction in the junior year. Graduate students are typically notified of eligibility for induction after completion of 24 graduate credits.
