Good News!
I received my copy of "Savag Pistols" yesterday. Written by Bailey Brower
Jr. of New Jersey, it was years'-long project, which I illustrated with
hundreds of photographs..
Amazon.com describes: ... "Savage automatic pistols are the hidden
treasures of gun collecting. Informed collectors agree that these
well-designed, superbly crafted, high-quality American firearms have been
ignored, with little new information available for the last 40 years. In
'Savage Pistols,' author Biley Brower Jr. tells the remarkable story of
Savage Arms, from its humble beginnings with Arthur Savage in the late
1880s to the creation of the last pistol in the late 1920s. Bailey
explains the evolution of the Sagage pistol, the role of Savage pistols
in World War I, and the pistols connection to such historical figures as
Buffalo Bill Cody, Bat Masterson, and William Pinkerton. This
information-packed book includes hundreds of photographs of Savage pistols
and rifles, cartridges, holsters, and other Savage products, as well as
fascinating advertisements and illustrations touting the wonders of the
'pistol that almost was.' 'Savage Pistols' is an indispensable resource
for any collector, and an intriguing look into the history of American
firearms."
The book is everything I hoped it would be, representing a high degree of
quality and scholarship. Beautifully designed and printed...
I am proud to have worked on this project. This is my GOOD NEWS to share
with my classmates of '69.

Steve Sagala and wife Roxanne have teamed up to create Barley Rose
Bodycare. She's the Prez, I the humble Creative Director (after years
of taking orders from those guys!!) We produce a line of natural soaps and
bodycare products for people and animals; the only animal testing we do is
on our two sons Patrick and Ryan.
Roxanne teaches HS Art classes, I still shoot some, teach some, finishing
one book project and planning a personal book on ADD or maybe some people
I know or... where was I?
Ben Rosenbrg - where are you?
Jay Levinson - did you ever atone for that fish kill in biology?
Dennis McAvey - thanks for trying to keep me in physics class;
wish you had succeeded.
Alex - sorry about the bloody nose.
Gary Dale - did you ever acquire one of those big, shiny automobiles
you used to draw in 8-13?
Steve Marinaro - I apologize for letting that kid kick you in the rear
when you were getting on the bus.
Hallie - did you ever get Mr. McCoy to stop calling you Hayley?
You know, when I left New York, I didn't appreciate the fact that not
every hometown has High Tor, the Hudson River, South Mountain Road, and
yes - the CHS of 1969. Peace.

After graduation, attended Rockland Community College for 2 years, decided
to pursue a career in photography. Attended Germain School of Photography
in Manhattan, studying commercial photography.
Worked as assistant to George Ancona, moving on to staff job at Columbia
University's Lamont-Dohert Geological Observatory for 5 years. Thence to
New Jersey, opened studio in Morris County specializing in advertising
photo-illustration.
Moved to Pennsylvania, still working in NJ in the digital imaging
field.
Married to Roxanne, 2 sons, Patrick and Ryan. Still enjoy music (listening
and playing), photography, and writing foolishness for myself and the
occasional technical article on general imaging-related subjects.
Still trying to learn stuff I should have learned at CHS.
