Hello Steve,

Hello Steve - I don't know if you remember me, I am Ernie Giraudin's wife Karen.

I wanted you to know that Ernie passed away this year 2005. He died on July 18, 05, from Cancer.

He was diagnosed last year with Lung Cancer. Then it metastasized to the liver, and in April of this year it metastasized to his brain. He had a good outlook with the cancer. He said that he was going to beat it, but he didn't. When the Dr's. told Ernie, that he only had 3 months to live - Ernie, said that he will be here until after Christmas This past year was quit hard for the family. Our son Todd, was going to college at the University of Maryland at College Park, when all of this started to happen to Ernie. This past semester was very hard for Todd, because Ernie had passed away before Todd was to graduate this Dec.20th and 21st., 05. Just to update you - Todd just graduated this Weds and Thurs from University of Md. I am very proud of him. Ernie wanted to be there for him, but, he wasn't there in flesh, but he was most certainly there in spirit.

GIRAUDIN, ERNEST F., JR. THE COMMANDER Ernest F. Giraudin, Jr. The Commander of Nanuet, NY, Ex Chief of the Nanuet Fire Department, Commander of the American Legion Naurashank Post 794 Nanuet and a lifetime resident of Rockland County, died Monday, July 18, 2005, with his family and friends by his side.

Ernie was a plumber/steam fitter for ATC Systems, Middlesex, NJ for 26 years. He was a member of Local Union #373, Mountainville, NY. Ernie was born August 8, 1951 in Nyack, NY to Ernest F., Sr. and Jane Wilson Giraudin.

He was a graduate of Clarkstown High School in 1969. Ernie served in the United States Marines from 1969 - 1972. On September 18, 1976, he married Karen Hinckley in New City, NY.

Ernie was a member of the Nanuet Fire Department for over 35 years serving as chief from 1994-1995. He was Commander of the American Legion Naurashank Post #794 and member for more than 20 years. Ernie was instrumental in the construction of the Veteran's Memorial on Prospect St. in Nanuet.

He is survived by his wife Karen of Nanuet; son Todd of Nanuet; mother Jane Giraudin of Henderson, NV; brother Jamison of Nanuet; sister Betsy Camadeco of Henderson, NV; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting is Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. A firematic service will be held Thursday 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, at 10:30 am, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Germonds Cemetery. Friends may send donations to the American Legion Naurashank, Post 794, P.O.
